Sacred Principles — Why Donors Will Come Forward

1.The Quran explicitly promises that Qarz al-Hasana is multiplied manifold by Allah (SWT) — Al-Baqarah 2:245, Al-Hadid 57:11, Al-Muzzammil 73:20.
2.Donors are told clearly: "Your money is safe. Your reward is with Allah. Your community benefits." — this three-part promise is the core pitch.
3.NurBank is the TRUSTWORTHY INTERMEDIARY — Sharia Supervisory Board certification, FCA regulation, transparent pool accounting, annual impact reporting.
4.The Hasana badge system creates halal social recognition — not showing off (riya) but community accountability and encouragement.
5.Legacy option (Sadaqa Jariya) allows donors to endow their Hasana contribution permanently — counting as ongoing good deeds after death.

Eligibility

  • •Must be a Muslim (self-declared, honour system)
  • •NurBank account holder for minimum 6 months
  • •No active County Court Judgements (CCJs)
  • •No existing unpaid Qarz al-Hasana from any source (self-declared + credit check)
  • •UK resident with valid address verification

Purpose-Based Lending

  • •Approved purposes: medical emergency, education fees, essential home repair, business startup costs, funeral costs, new baby essentials, utility arrears
  • •Luxury purchases, gambling debts, or haram-category spending are explicitly excluded
  • •Purpose must be declared and evidenced (invoice, letter, quote)
  • •NurBank conducts a light-touch Sharia compliance check on purpose

Loan Terms

  • •Loan amounts: £200 – £5,000 (Tier 1) | £5,001 – £15,000 (Tier 2 — enhanced checks)
  • •Repayment: 6 to 36 months — flexible repayment schedule agreed upfront
  • •Zero interest, zero hidden fees
  • •Admin fee: £15–£45 flat (covers processing cost only — disclosed upfront)
  • •Early repayment welcomed — no penalty

Guarantor (Kafala) System

  • •Loans above £2,000 require one Kafil (guarantor)
  • •Kafil must also hold a NurBank account
  • •Kafil is jointly responsible for repayment if borrower defaults
  • •Kafil receives notification 14 days before any missed payment
  • •Kafil Kafala is a sacred Islamic obligation — communicated clearly at signup

Repayment & Credit Building

  • •On-time repayment builds a NurBank Hasana Credit Score (internal)
  • •Good repayment history unlocks higher loan tiers
  • •Late payment: reminder calls, community mediator option before legal action
  • •Default: referred to Islamic mediation panel before any legal route
  • •No interest or penalty charges on arrears — only admin communication cost

Community Accountability

  • •Borrower signs a NurBank Hasana Covenant — a moral commitment document
  • •Covenant is framed as an Islamic promise (Ahd) — spiritual accountability
  • •Anonymised repayment data shared with donor community (aggregate only)
  • •Repeat defaulters are removed from the programme — not pursued criminally first

The NurBank Hasana Covenant (Moral Contract)

Every borrower signs a Hasana Covenant — a written moral commitment framed as an Islamic Ahd (pledge). It states: "I take this loan as an Amanah (trust) from my Muslim brothers and sisters. I commit to repay it fully and on time. I understand that defaulting without genuine hardship is a betrayal of trust (Khiyanah) and a sin. May Allah (SWT) make me among those who repay their debts." This spiritual accountability layer — combined with the guarantor system — is NurBank's primary default prevention mechanism.
